Accounts Assistant – Londonderry Area
Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
Location: Fawney Road, Drumahoe, L’Derry
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (flexible options available)
We’re currently working with a well-established business based in the Drumahoe area of L’Derry who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a varied role that blends finance and administration duties.
The Role
As the Accounts Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function by maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and assisting with payroll and HR administration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing supplier invoices and ensuring accurate data entry
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies
- Preparing and processing payment runs (BACS/cheques)
- Managing purchase orders and liaising with suppliers regarding queries
- Completing monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparing VAT and Intrastat returns
- Processing weekly payroll and maintaining pension records
- Supporting HR administration, including recruitment paperwork, onboarding, and maintaining staff records
- Assisting the wider finance team with customer accounts and general administrative duties
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a busy accounts office environment
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Excellent organisational, process and time management abilities
- A proactive, team-focused approach and high attention to detail
Working Hours & Flexibility
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with shift options available:
- 8:00am – 4:30pm
- 8:30am – 5:00pm
- 9:00am – 5:30pm
A 4-day working week can also be facilitated..
